About the Opportunity
Our client is growing and has created a new Plant Operations Manager role to support the next stage of its food and beverage manufacturing operations in the Shoalhaven.
Reporting to the COO and General Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the plant, overseeing production, packaging and logistics. You’ll work alongside the team to keep operations moving, resolve issues as they arise and identify practical ways to improve processes and performance.
This role would suit someone with a trade or technical background who understands plant equipment, enjoys being hands-on and is ready to lead a team while taking ownership of the site’s ongoing performance.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing day-to-day plant operations, with a clear view of the full manufacturing process from production through to packaging and logistics
- Planning ahead to coordinate people, equipment and resources so production runs smoothly
- Leading and working alongside the production team, providing practical support when challenges arise
- Troubleshooting plant and equipment issues and carrying out an appropriate level of hands-on maintenance
- Researching new machinery and helping to introduce equipment that supports the operation’s growth
- Working with internal teams and external stakeholders to keep production and deliveries on track
- Identifying practical improvements to workflow, efficiency, safety and quality
- Reporting directly to the COO and General Manager on plant performance and operational priorities
About You
We’re looking for someone who is practical, technically minded and confident coordinating people and production requirements.
Ideally, you will have:
- A trade or technical background, such as Fitter & Turner, Electrical or a similar discipline
- Hands-on experience within the foold and beverage manufacturing space
- Previous experience coordinating production and logistics
- Experience supervising or managing a team of workers
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- A practical approach to implementing new systems and improving processes
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
