Apprentice Chef

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Chef to join a unique hospitality and tourism destination in the Shoalhaven region. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn from experienced chefs while working in a professional kitchen focused on seasonal produce, quality dining experiences, events, and catering.
Set within one of the South Coast's most iconic visitor destinations, this role offers exposure to café service, functions, special events, accommodation dining, and contemporary Australian cuisine.
About the Role
Working alongside an experienced culinary team, you will complete a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery while gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking across breakfast, lunch, events and functions
- Learn food presentation, plating and service standards
- Support kitchen operations including stock rotation, storage and food safety compliance
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, garnishes and basic menu items under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas
- Assist with catering, special events and group dining experiences
- Work collaboratively with chefs and front-of-house staff
- Participate in formal apprenticeship training and workplace assessments
About You
- Genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- Reliable, punctual and committed to completing an apprenticeship
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Must hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport (essential)
- Previous kitchen, hospitality or customer service experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
