General Hands – Large Scale Art Project (12 Week Contract)

An exciting opportunity is now available for reliable and motivated General Hands to assist with a large-scale art installation project currently underway in a local warehouse facility. This 12-week project involves preparing a significant artwork structure for transportation and installation, with duties focused on sanding, surface preparation, and painting.

This role would suit individuals who are hands-on, physically capable, and comfortable working within a team environment on a unique and creative project. No previous art experience is required; however, candidates must be comfortable undertaking manual tasks and following direction to ensure quality finishing standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sanding and surface preparation of large structural components
  • Assisting with painting and finishing of artwork surfaces
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
  • Handling tools and materials safely within a warehouse environment
  • Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Assisting the project team to meet project deadlines and quality standards

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
  • Ability to undertake repetitive manual tasks including sanding and painting
  • High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • A White Card (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team
  • Reliable transport to attend the warehouse location
