Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef or Chef de Partie to join our professional culinary team in a high-end, high-volume educational catering environment. You will play a key role in preparing and cooking meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, maintaining consistent quality, presentation, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals under the guidance of the Head Chef, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Support service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including tools, equipment, and workstations.
  • Assist with stock rotation, maintaining, and accurately recording food stores in line with HACCP procedures.
  • Comply with workplace hygiene, safety, and operational protocols.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in kitchen workflows, portion control, and waste management.

Mandatory Requirements

✔ Qualified Chef (TAFE/Cookery qualification) preferred
✔ WWCC (Working With Children Check)
✔ Food Safety Certification (if not a qualified chef)
✔ Current Australian Driver’s Licence & reliable transport

  • Strong cooking and food preparation skills in high-volume environments
  • Experience maintaining and accurately recording food stores
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and compliance practices
