Assembler – Mechanical & Hands‑On Role

About the Role

Join a cutting-edge transport manufacturer producing hydrogen-powered buses and heavy vehicles. We are seeking a mechanically minded Assembler with strong hand skills and proficiency with power tools. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to directly impact production quality, applying precision, problem-solving, and craftsmanship within a collaborative assembly and fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble structural and mechanical components of buses and vehicle sub‑assemblies.
  • Interpret assembly work instructions, mechanical drawings, and fit‑up specifications.
  • Utilise power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to achieve precise fits.
  • Inspect and adjust assemblies to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and quality teams to maintain production flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant work environment.



Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly, ideally in automotive, heavy‑vehicle or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong aptitude with hand and power tools, fasteners, fixtures and mechanical fit‑up.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, assembly drawings and process notes.
  • Practical problem‑solving and strong attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Experience with component assembly, hydraulics, electrical harness routing or related sub‑assemblies.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
