Our client is an award winning, highly certified company that specialises in water flow grates and drainage systems. As a dynamic and growing company specialising in the Building and Construction industry, We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work with well maintained equipment suited for purpose and be part of a supportive, collaborative work environment.

If you are an experienced Machine operator, have experience as a sheet metal worker or have worked with metal, this role may be perfect for you!

This is a varied role involving multiple tasks, some of which may include:

  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks according to specifications and requirements.
  • Modify CNC programs as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine sequences, tooling requirements, and dimensional specifications.
  • Select appropriate tools and machine parameters for each job.
  • Load materials into CNC machines and adjust machines (tool changes, offsets) as required.
  • Monitor machine operations to maintain accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool inspection.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues such as tool breakage, wear, or product defects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Assist with other workshop duties as needed.

The ideal candidate may possess:

  • Strong knowledge of general metal shop equipment and tools.
  • Experience in tooling selection and setting machining parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work precisely.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues independently.
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks within set parameters and follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 30kg regularly.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
  • Manual dexterity to assemble parts quickly and accurately
