As a dynamic and growing company specialising in the Building and Construction industry, We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work with well maintained equipment suited for purpose and be part of a supportive, collaborative work environment.
If you are an experienced Machine operator, have experience as a sheet metal worker or have worked with metal, this role may be perfect for you!
This is a varied role involving multiple tasks, some of which may include:
- Operate CNC machines to perform tasks according to specifications and requirements.
- Modify CNC programs as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine sequences, tooling requirements, and dimensional specifications.
- Select appropriate tools and machine parameters for each job.
- Load materials into CNC machines and adjust machines (tool changes, offsets) as required.
- Monitor machine operations to maintain accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool inspection.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues such as tool breakage, wear, or product defects.
- Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement processes.
- Assist with other workshop duties as needed.
The ideal candidate may possess:
- Strong knowledge of general metal shop equipment and tools.
- Experience in tooling selection and setting machining parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work precisely.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues independently.
- Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to complete tasks within set parameters and follow instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 30kg regularly.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity to assemble parts quickly and accurately
