Hiring Multiple Labourers for Significant Utility Infrastructure Upgrade

Location: Sydney, NSW (Starting in North Sydney and expanding across the region)

Our Client is a leading provider of specialised commercial diving and maintenance services. We are embarking on a significant project to upgrade approximately 650 sewage pumping stations that direct waste and grey water to treatment plants across Sydney. This project is ongoing and will begin in North Sydney, gradually expanding to other regions.

Our Client is seeking methodical, thoughtful, and technically minded labourers to join their team for this critical undertaking. As a Labourer, you will be required to assist a team of skilled commercial divers and other professionals in the maintenance and replacement of sewage pumping stations. Each station presents unique challenges, and your role will evolve as you gain skills and experience, with support from paid training and courses provided by your employer.

Initially, you will undergo comprehensive induction and safety training, following this, you’ll assist in general hand duties such as setting up sites, preparing work kits, and assisting divers and other professionals when directed. With experience and additional training, you will have the opportunity to advance into more specialised tasks, including pipe fitting, metal work, and working in confined spaces.

Key responsibilities for the role;

  • Perform general hand duties, including carrying materials, assisting with site cleanup, and waste removal.
  • Assist with the installation and replacement of sewage pumping stations, including handling and positioning equipment and materials.
  • Prepare work kits and organise tools and materials as required.
  • Ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, and safety gear are maintained and in good working condition.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors, divers and skilled team members as directed to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Engage in paid training and courses provided by the employer to develop skills in specialised tasks.



Key requirements for the role;

To be successful in this role, there are a few things we are looking for:

  • White Card (required)
  • Working at Heights Certificate (required)
  • Confined Space Certificate (required)
  • Rigging ticket or relevant experience (advantageous)
  • Welding experience (advantageous)
  • Good physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness and commitment to training and courses for upskilling and career growth.
  • Willingness to work in high-risk environments involving trapped gases, heights, confined spaces, and potential flooding.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively both with others and independently.
